Ginger’s Yellow House is a quaint little yellow house located in Olivia, Minnesota. Ginger Hallbeck is the owner and besides being an accomplished artist, offers space and expertise to various art endeavors.

Ginger uses the house as her art studio. To help support its maintenance, she teaches a variety of classes in watercolor, mixed media and drawing. In addition, she opens the house to workshops and meetings of all kinds for a small fee, offering space to work and socialize. Since the house was formerly her home residence, the complete kitchen and bedroom facilities make it a cozy meeting and retreat space for small groups.

Extensive gardens surround the Yellow House. Ginger is eager to share her interest in sustainable gardening and healthy gourmet cooking. She holds perhaps the only degree in 19th Century Home Arts in the world, having designed her own bachelor’s program for Minnesota Metropolitan College. In season, she offers opportunities to learn about both with interactive dining workshops. Her flower and vegetable gardens are lush attractions for the “plein aire” artist.

Ginger’s Yellow House is open by appointment for classes and workshops. Come see her gallery of paintings and collection of note cards. It's located at 303 N. 9th St. in Olivia, Minnesota.

The Yellow House is my magical place. It is where I display my art work, conduct my workshops, paint, and garden. When I was a little girl, I created a magical house in my imagination.

Now that I am an adult, the child in me has recreated this wonderful house to share with others who enjoy the things I do. Come play along with me. Come share my YELLOW HOUSE.
